General Warehouse /Forklift Operator/Shipping/Receiving/Order Picker

GOODWILL OF WESTERN & NORTHERN CONNECTICUT is seeking an efficient Warehouse Picker to join our team. The Warehouse Picker will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate order fulfillment and customer satisfaction by picking, packing, and preparing items for shipment.

Responsibilities:

Read and interpret pick tickets, work orders, or other documentation to determine items to be picked.

Locate items in the warehouse using appropriate tools and equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or pick carts.

Accurately pick items from shelves, bins, or racks, verifying quantities, descriptions, and lot numbers.

Inspect items for quality and potential damage before packing.

Pack items securely and efficiently to prevent damage during transit.

Affix shipping labels and documentation as required.

Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety guidelines and procedures.

Report any inventory discrepancies, damages, or safety concerns to supervisors in a timely manner.

Assist with periodic physical inventory counts and cycle counts.

Contribute to overall warehouse efficiency by suggesting improvements and collaborating with team members.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of 1 year of experience in warehouse picking, packing, or related roles.

Fork Lift Certified

Ability to read, interpret, and follow written instructions.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in picking and packing processes.

Good physical ability to lift, bend, reach, and stand for extended periods.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
