PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
As the Project Manager Facilities, you will oversee the project management services to the various entities and subsidiaries for CPKC in for an assigned region, for all leased and owned sites. The successful candidate will develop and deliver the overall design of the project and to track and update budgets and schedules throughout the course of a project to ensure that it is completed on time and within budgets established and approved.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Coordinate contracts, including safety orientation, field inspection and supervision of contract work on various projects while ensuring that CPKC safety requirements are adhered to on all sites
Coordinate work activities with internal departments and contractors to ensure safe, efficient execution of projects and programmed maintenance work
Accountable for utility infrastructure maintenance to ensure business continuity for the assigned region including design and managing the projects on a day to day basis to ensure completion within schedule and budget
Ensure any related environmental issues are dealt with according to company mandated policies and local codes, as they relate to projects
Prepare budget requirements for multi-year planning including preparation and review project cost estimates for appropriation of funds relating to facilities
Lead all aspects of all assigned facilities construction project from conception to delivery including all gas, water, sanitary management projects
Conduct in-depth reviews of each project to schedule tasks, subcontractors, tools, equipment, and material deliveries, while ensuring daily oversight of work progress, managing costs, and supervising the behaviors and performance of site personnel under their charge
Evaluate contractor performance to ensure quality, cost, and schedule objectives are met, while negotiating with construction managers, contractors, suppliers, and consultants to increase benefits from company expenditures
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Architecture, Engineering or Facilities, or a certified/licensed skilled trade with a preference for candidates with a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation
Minimum 1 year experience in project management within a fast paced industry such as railway facility management and or commercial construction,
Valid driver's license with an ability to travel up to 50% across Mississippi and Louisiana
Proficient in various construction subject areas, project management processes, and financial management, as well as relevant knowledge of codes, contract law, and legislation related to project work
Experience leading or contributing to the preparation of Request For Proposal (RFP)’s, tenders and tender awards
Ability to support operations 24/7, including on-call assignments after hours, on weekends and potentially holidays

Management Conductor Program
Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
