Job Title: Network Engineering Manager

Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid: 3 Days Onsite, 2 Days Remote)

Duration: Direct Hire

Hourly Rate: $195K–$220K Annually

Responsibilities:

• Define and execute multi-year network strategy and growth roadmap.

• Prioritize projects to balance internal improvements and business requirements.

• Oversee hardware lifecycle management.

• Collaborate cross-functionally to support trading infrastructure and define timelines.

• Maintain secure high-performance connectivity between global on-premise data centers and cloud platforms.

• Implement automated deployments and network monitoring tools.

• Perform Level 1 support when needed.

• Manage a global team of 10 network engineers; support collaboration across UK, Japan, Singapore.

• Ensure on-call support rotation (1 week/month), including weekends/off-hours for change windows.

• Interface regularly with C-level executives.

Required:

• 10 + years in network engineering (design, implementation, support)

• 2 – 5 years in management/leadership, including people and project management

• Experience in trading environments, capital markets, or ultra-low latency networks

• Strong hands-on experience with Arista, Juniper, and Linux

• Proficient in Python, Ansible, Jinja2 for automation (network as code)

• Cybersecurity awareness and best practices

• Must be reliable and technically curious

• Multicast and multicast-based architecture experience

• Familiarity with Cisco ISE, VPNs, and firewalls

• Experience in hybrid cloud environments (AWS/Azure)

• Comfortable in a flat org and presenting to executive stakeholders

• Global collaboration and infrastructure experience

Preferred:

• Experience working in an MSP servicing capital markets

• Familiarity with Accedian for monitoring

• Timing infrastructure experience: GPS, PTP, PPS, NTP

• Knowledge of Spirent/Ixia testing tools

• Django and database development experience
