Finance Associate

What this position is about – Purpose

The Finance Associate assists the Finance Manager in the execution of the financial month-end close and reporting, as well as the daily management of the internal controls, the accounts payable and treasury functions.

What will you do? Responsibilities:

Bookkeeping and Financial Reporting

Controlling fully statutory accounts (AP, OPEX, Payroll, etc.) prepared by an accounting firm

Assisting in the execution of financial month, quarter and year-end closing

Reporting weekly volumes, cash and credit facilities

Reporting monthly marketing expenditures and customer credit

Ensuring monthly Intercompany account reconciliation

Reconciliating monthly duties (customs, excise, QPT, etc.) booked in statutory GL accounts and the logistics file

Treasury

Ensuring timely payments (duties, taxes, invoices, etc.)

Updating weekly the cash flows file

Preparing monthly bank reconciliations

Internal Controls and External Audit

Ensuring respect of the procure to pay process (existence of the PO, delivery note, final invoice before proceeding with payment)

Ensuring that the respect of the supplier's payment terms is recorded on the system

Supporting the financial external audit process performed by Deloitte

Supporting the internal control process performed by the group

Who are we looking for? Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration or Economics

3-5 years’ work experience in Accounting, Audit or Finance (preferably from the Big 4 Accounting firms – EY, Deloitte, PWC, KPMG)

Portuguese, English (preferable)

Good knowledge of local GAAP (PGC) and IFRS

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams and Outlook)
