A Brief Overview

Provides treaty expertise to support Hong Kong and Singapore business, covering both Traditional and Financial Solutions business. Monitors work in process for the team and manages treaty execution with all Hong Kong and Singapore clients. Leads the effort for continuous improvement in treaty execution process, including achieving target turn-around time on treaty execution and reducing number of outstanding treaties. Works 1-on-1 with Treaty Developers/Treaty Specialists to mentor them on how to thoroughly research and identify inter-related provisions and how to craft comprehensive, cohesive treaty language. Collaborates with other members of the Hong Kong and Singapore Offices to ensure treaty documents accurately reflect the transaction as approved.

What you will do

Lead treaty team members to complete treaty drafting and support treaty execution in every way to meet clients' and RGA's requirements and to ensure treaty documents accurately reflect the transaction as approved

Utilize knowledge, experience and the application of best practices to drive and manage the treaty drafting pipeline and progress

Ensure protection of RGA’s business interests, legal position and regulatory compliance through comprehensive negotiation and timely completion of treaty documents

Support treaty projects and initiatives for both Traditional and Financial Solutions business

Understand and apply all applicable RGA legal and treaty requirements in treaty drafting and operates as quality control on treaties

Exercise judgement to solve complex problems and ensure all necessary functions have participated in the delivery of final execution versions of the treaty prior to execution

Monitor status of outstanding documents to ensure service standards are met and report/escalate to management as required

Closely connect with International Treaty Team and stay on top of development on latest RGA guideline and standard for treaty

Provide training and guidance to junior staff of the treaty team and manages their performance and development

Lead and support ad-hoc corporate and internal projects

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in actuarial science or laws or equivalent related experience required

8+ Years reinsurance treaty / product development experience. 5+ years in a supervisory or team lead role required

6+ Years work-related experience in insurance/reinsurance services required

Advanced Microsoft Word skills. Basic Microsoft Excel skills. Intermediate Microsoft Outlook skills. Basic Sql and Query skills required

Advanced written and oral communication skills. Advanced critical thinking skills. Must be flexible and adaptive to change. Takes initiative and is accountable required

Ability to comprehend and interpret treaty language and apply it appropriately required

Ability to share and impart knowledge, be a role model for more junior, inexperienced staff required

Reinsurance industry knowledge; finance and accounting knowledge preferred
