Teaching Assistant for Summer STEAM Program

Snapology is hiring Teaching Assistants for summer programs. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting the Lead Instructor with programs. In this role, you will:

Work with groups of up to 20 students through curriculum-guided engineering and/or robotics activities;

Support lunch and recess, as needed.

Support student behavior in the classroom by doing 1:1 check-ins and enforcing rules and procedures;

Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of Snapology;

Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies;

Check-in with Owner/Program Director as needed.

Location: You will be placed at an off-site, partner location. Depending on the week, you will be in different locations (close to your residence). We have camps in locations throughout Middlesex and Eastern Worcester County, such as Ayer, Bedford, Carlisle, Chelmsford, Fitchburg, Leominster, Lunenburg, Shrewsbury, Stow, Westford, and Worcester.

Hours: Hours will vary based on scheduling needs, but will likely either be 8:45AM-3:45PM or 10AM-2PM. Applicants for this position are required to be available for the full week. Programs run from July 7th through August 15th. While it is preferred that candidates are available for the full 6 weeks, week by week employment will be considered.

Training: If selected for this role, an all-day training (which includes your First Aid and CPR certification, if needed) will take place on June 7th in our North Chelmsford office.

Pay: Teaching Assistants start at $20/hour

Requirements:

A minimum of 1 year of experience working with children in a tutoring, camp, child-care, or enrichment position

Positive, energetic personality

Interest and willingness to work with children ages 6-12 throughout the summer

Reliable: On-time and consistent attendance is required.
