We are leading supplier of extrusion ingots, sheet ingots, foundry alloys, wire rods and high-purity aluminium with a global production network of around 5,000 employees. With primary metal production facilities in Europe, Canada, Australia, Brazil and Qatar, and recycling facilities throughout Europe and in the U.S., two-thirds of our primary aluminum production is based on renewable energy.
AM Finance consists of the local finance organizations located at our plants, finance organizations in the business units, and the central finance team. The central finance team is responsible for business planning, performance management, financial reporting, and information systems and technology. The central team works closely with the business units, plants, and corporate functions in these areas.

As a Financial Controller you will be exposed to senior management in Aluminium Metal and Corporate functions. You will be in contact with business partners across all business units in Aluminium Metal and other business areas in Hydro. You will join a cross-functional team, located in Oslo and at our plants in Norway.
What can you expect?
As Financial Controller you are part of the financial reporting processes across AM and are responsible for steering and developing corresponding reports, processes, systems, controls, and policies in this area. In your position you will report to the Head of Financial Reporting and Enterprise Risk Management, and you will work in a team with highly competent and engaged colleagues.
Your main tasks and deliveries will include:
Act as a reliable and service-minded business partner for financial reporting and controlling.
Coordinate the quarterly Accounting Issue process, incl. follow up of Accounting issues.
Take lead in Accounting topics and projects, and act as business partner for Group Accounting.
Prepare AM consolidated reporting packages, including contributions to Hydro’s external quarterly and annual reporting.
Contribute to forecasting, performance, and deviation analysis.
Maintain and continuously develop financial reporting processes, systems, and policies.
Contribute to standardization and automation of reports and processes.

Your professional qualifications
Master’s degree, preferably in business administration, professional accounting or similar.
2-5 years of experience with accounting and/or controlling, financial reporting and the use of financial systems from an international/industrial company.
Sound accounting competence, IFRS competence and experience is a plus.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to sanity-check financials and explanations.
Willingness and motivation to learn and grow.
Advanced Excel and Power Point skills is a requirement. Experience with SAP, consolidation systems and analytical tools (SAP analytics cloud/SAC, PowerBI etc.) is an advantage.
High level of written and spoken English is required, fluency in Norwegian is strongly preferred (or the willingness to acquire such level).
