Job Description
LPC S.A., a member of the Motor Oil Group, was founded in 1981 and is active in the industrial production of basic lubricants, in the production and marketing of packaged lubricants as well as in the marketing of paraffin and other petroleum products. LPC is the No. 1 exporter of packaged lubricants in Greece with exports to more than 55 countries, while it maintains subsidiaries in Bulgaria, Romania, and Serbia.
The company is constantly investing in technological innovation and research to develop advanced technology products with a reduced environmental footprint, while it supports the model of circular economy through all its operations.
Currently, we are seeking to hire an IFRS Reporting Accountant based in Aspropirgos.
Main Responsibilities
Prepares and submits consolidated financial statements (for 9 legal entities) and standalone statutory reporting ensuring compliance with IFRS standards and group accounting policies
Supports the preparation of MOTOR OIL Group’s IFRS financial statements on a quarterly basis
Prepares the reconciliation and elimination of all intercompany transactions
Responsible for all aspects of IFRS 16 Accounting
Performs IFRS 9 ECL model (Expected credit loss model to trade receivables) on a quarterly basis.
Responsible for IFRS adjustments and reclassifications.
Develops and monitors a robust control system over subsidiaries’ accounting processes in collaboration with rest accounting team and/or management
Provides support to the Accounting Operations in the month-end and year-end closing processes
Contributes to the development and documentation of business processes and accounting policies under IFRS
Supports internal & external audits over accounting issues and resolves any issues related to area of expertise
Prepares and submits questionnaires for various purposes (Bank of Greece, IOVE, ELSTAT etc.)
Is up to date with changes in International Financial Reporting Standards and communicates changes within Finance Department. Applies necessary improvements in Group Reporting Systems
Main Qualifications
University Degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline
Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance will be preferred
Minimum 5 years of working experience in IFRS Reporting
Proficient use of MS Office, especially Excel
Experience in SAP environment
Experience in consolidation tools (preferably SAP/EPM systems) will be considered a plus
Knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS and Greek GAAP), good analytical skills gained through finance education and basic understanding of reporting processes structure and systems
Strong verbal and written communication skills both in Greek and English
