Job Description
Job Summary: The Hotel Restaurant Utility Worker is responsible for kitchen, restaurant and floor maintenance as directed by Manager on Duty (MOD).
Duties and Responsibilities
Washes wares, china, glass, silver.
Sanitizes and polishes buffet wares, e.g., chaffers and utensils.
Assists with buffet service set-up and breakdown.
Deep cleans floor mats.
Surface cleans flooring in kitchen, bar, and dining room.
Identifies hazards of cleaning chemicals with hazard warning labels.
Implements proper usage of cleaning chemical agents when applied to safe storage and handling.
Applies Sanitizing Agents and details handrails and bannisters in/or around the dining salon.
Assists Floor Staff during peak volume periods as Busser when directed by MOD.
Clean and organize coolers including walk-in coolers.
Maintains sanitation protocols with regards to Trash / Dumpsite(s).
Breaks down and discards boxes used from Provisioning.
Education and Experience
High School or equivalent education required.
1 year restaurant and general maintenance experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities
Ability to stoop to clean under-sidings of sinks, dishwasher machines.
Quality oriented
Ability to properly administer use of dishwashing machine (Training provided)
Ability to clean and maintain grease traps.
Manages time and pays attention to detail.
Displays a positive attitude, even under pressure.
Exemplifies the culture of authentic hospitality.
Always be aware and attentive to guest needs.
Qualifications and Requirements
Valid US Virgin Islands Health card.
Valid Serv-Safe Credentials.
Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Must have a flexible schedule for rotational shifts.
Must follow established hotel safety protocols and procedures at all times.
Prior experience in hospitality preferred.
Strong communication and people skills.
Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
Customer service oriented.
Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships.
Ability to stand, lift and walk for extended periods of time.
Must be able to lift 50lbs or more.
