Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Shipping and Receiving Specialist responsible for managing shipping products, printing correct labels, reading codes to determine the appropriate materials, and packaging items for outbound crates. This role requires precision in weighing products to determine shipping needs, cutting packing materials to specifications, crimping bags, counting parts for shipment, and conducting computer work related to quotes, contracts, and codes.

Responsibilities

Print and read labels for outbound crates accurately.

Ship products efficiently and accurately.

Weigh products to assess shipping requirements.

Use computers for various tasks including quotes and contracts.

Cut packing materials to required specifications.

Crimp bags to secure contents.

Count parts accurately for shipment.

Lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.

Utilize a tape measure for precise measurements.

Stand for the entire shift and wear steel-toe shoes.Essential Skills

Proficiency in computer skills for printing labels and reading codes.

Experience in warehouse operations including inventory, packaging, and material handling.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for entire shifts.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in shipping and packing orders.

Work Environment

The position is based in a climate-controlled office within the warehouse. The role involves working with a small, self-dependent team from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with minimal overtime and occasional weekend work. Employees are required to wear steel-toe shoes, and the dress code is casual yet professional, allowing jeans and t-shirts without graphics. The facility provides a swipe badge system for timekeeping, with comprehensive orientation on the first day.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chesapeake, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
