Position Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Manager:
Manage the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable department, including supervising the A/P staff
Oversee the processing of invoices, expense reports, and payment runs, ensuring compliance with company policies and internal controls.
Maintain vendor relationships and resolve discrepancies or disputes in a timely manner.
Develop, implement, and monitor AP procedures and systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Support month-end and year-end closing processes related to accounts payable.
Assist with audits by providing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
Assists in the completion of special projects as warranted.
Completes other duties as needed and assigned.
Act as liaison between corporate and branch locations regarding accounts payable.
Obtain approval for payments, generate AP & refund checks, and obtain necessary signatures.
Prepare AP-related reports, metrics, and analyses for management as needed.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications of the Accounts Payable Manager:
Required: High school diploma or GED
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
Required: Minimum 5+ years of experience in an accounts payable role
Required: Minimum 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial position
Required: Previous experience and a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Must have good communication skills, be professional, personable, and mature
Valid driver's license
Experience with Timberline, SAGE or CMic a plus
