BI Developer (Power BI & Redshift) 4 days remote, 1 in office, contract to hire
We are looking for a BI Developer with experience working with both Power BI and AWS Redshift. This role involves creating queries, developing optimized dataflows & datasets, performance & resource optimized reports, and dashboards. What you can expect:
Create and maintain dataflows, datasets, reports, and dashboards based on business requirements.
Write native queries for dataflows and datasets.
Configure real-time dashboards using APIs.
Develop Power BI reports and dashboards with visualizations and innovative solutions.
Optimize Power BI datasets and queries for performance and scalability.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
Ensure data accuracy and consistency by working closely with data engineers and analysts.
Stay updated with the latest Power BI features, AWS services, and industry best practices.
Identify opportunities to improve existing dashboards, reports, and data processes.
Mentor and train end users on Power BI functions.
What we are looking for:
4+ years of experience as a Power BI Developer or similar role.
2+ years of experience with AWS Services (S3, Redshift, RDS, Athena, Glue).
Experience setting up Power BI workspaces, dataflows/datasets, and pipelines.
Expertise in Power Query data modeling and DAX language.
Familiarity with SQL, Python, or other scripting languages for data manipulation and automation.
Hands-on experience with MySQL, Postgres, AWS.
Experience supporting data analytics/data modeling projects.
Knowledge of data visualization best practices.
Bonus points here:
Data Warehouse and ETL Development
Certification in Power BI and/or AWS
Understanding of financial metrics, KPIs, and regulatory requirements.
Experience with other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Quicksight).
Agile, Scrum, Kanban experience
