Quality Engineer – Advanced Manufacturing

An innovative clean tech manufacturer based in the Bay Area is seeking a Quality Engineer to support the development and implementation of quality systems across high-volume production. This role is critical to ensuring product reliability, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement as the company scales operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the APQP/PPAP process and manage the creation of quality documentation (e.g., PFMEA, Process Flow Diagrams, PSWs, Material & Process Certifications)
Interface with customers to resolve quality concerns and support product qualification
Develop and execute reliability test plans in line with customer and internal requirements
Support ISO9001, ISO14001, and IATF16949 compliance and documentation
Conduct root cause analyses and lead corrective actions to address quality issues
Collaborate cross-functionally to identify and implement process improvements
Set specifications for IQC, IPQC, and OQC with clear acceptance criteria
Support metrology, testing, and data analysis using statistical tools
Summarize and report on key quality trends to stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
3+ years of experience in a quality-focused role within a manufacturing environment
Familiarity with quality disciplines including APQP, PPAP, 8D, Six Sigma
Experience working with ISO9001 and IATF16949 standards
Hands-on experience with reliability testing, failure analysis, and metrology tools
Strong communication and documentation skills
Self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic setting
Desirable Experience:
Knowledge of GD&T, electrical and mechanical testing methods
Exposure to automotive, electronics, or other high-volume manufacturing industries
Experience using statistical software for quality analysis (e.g., Minitab, JMP)
Work Environment:
Combination of office and production floor work
May involve exposure to chemicals, noise, and production machinery (PPE provided)
Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs required
