A San Francisco-based real estate private equity firm with $1B+ AUM is seeking an Assistant Fund Controller (or Assistant Controller) to join their growing team. This individual will take ownership of fund and joint venture reporting, manage the fund administrator, and support ongoing capital activity across multiple vehicles. This is a key leadership hire offering a clear path to Director of Finance as the firm continues to scale.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead quarterly and annual fund-level financial reporting and performance tracking
Manage capital activity including capital calls, distributions, loan draws, and investor reporting
Oversee fund administrator and review prepared financial statements
Coordinate audits and ensure GAAP-compliant reporting
Collaborate cross-functionally with asset management, acquisitions, and internal accounting teams
Assist with compliance tracking, fund cash management, and LP correspondence
Ideal Candidate:
10 years or more of fund accounting experience in real estate private equity, in-house or fund adminstration
Manager-level experience with fund structures, JVs, and performance waterfalls
CPA preferred
Experience managing third-party fund administrators
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
Able to work independently and thrive in a lean, entrepreneurial environment
Compensation & Details:
Base salary up to $180k + 225k + 20% bonus
Hybrid schedule (2–3 days in-office in San Francisco)
Start date: ASAP
