Controls Engineer

We are seeking a Controls Engineer to join our manufacturing team. This role does not require a four-year degree, but hands-on experience in manufacturing and PLC programming is essential. The Controls Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining control systems to optimize manufacturing processes and improve efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC-based control systems.

Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to support and improve manufacturing operations.

Analyze system requirements and develop control strategies for new and existing equipment.

Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for control system failures.

Modify existing control programs to improve reliability, performance, and safety.

Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment.

Maintain accurate documentation of control systems and modifications.

Strong experience in a manufacturing environment is required.

Hands-on expertise with PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar) is required.

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control drawings.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Technical certifications or coursework in automation, controls, or a related field is a plus but not required.

Preferred skills:

Experience with HMI development.

Familiarity with VFDs, sensors, and industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, etc.).

Knowledge of safety systems and machine guarding controls.
