Leading multi-disciplinary team is looking for a Senior Plumbing Design Engineer for their Pittsburgh team!
Responsibilities:
Lead plumbing design on a variety of projects (Healthcare/Labs, Industrial, Education, Institutional, and Commercial)
Develop the following:
o Project scope
o Schedule
o Plumbing and fire protection budget/design approach
o Feasibility studies/project cost estimate
o Value engineering
o Code Review
o Project specifications
Perform project management duties
Coordinate project with architects, clients, and contractors
Review show drawings
Prepare construction drawings of plumbing and fire protection systems from schematic through the construction document phases
Perform/direct complex design of piping and equipment selection for plumbing and fire protection systems for large scale buildings
Specify plumbing/fire protection equipment
Perform QAQC on projects
Mentor/train junior staff
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
5+ years of Plumbing Design experience in Consulting Engineering
CBD or CBDT required
EI or PE License preferred
Proficient in local/national building codes and design practices
Extensive knowledge of the following:
o Plumbing Codes and Uniform Plumbing Codes
o NFPA 54; National Fuel Gas Code
o Relevant building codes, sustainability, green building rating systems, industry standards
o LEED compliance documentation
o Plumbing design/calculation resources
o Revit and AutoCAD
Understanding of and continued education of relevant trends/standard methodologies
Salary is commensurate with experience.
