Do you want to help us build the DNA of tech? Vishay, Yankton, SD, is currently seeking a full-time Machinist responsible for working with machine shop equipment to fabricate production equipment, tooling fixtures, repair parts, and fabricate and/or modify raw material used by production to build electronic components.

Job Location:

This position is located on-site Yankton, SD. We are situated in Southeast South Dakota: on the banks of the Missouri River and minutes from Lewis and Clark Lake where you can enjoy a variety of outdoor recreational activities.

What you will be doing:

Work includes assignment planning, layout, set up, operating and making tool adjustments for various types of manual, numerically controlled and computerized machine shop equipment. Establishes and maintains a strong working relationship between Engineering and other company departments by giving assistance in product creation and product implementation as determined by engineering.

Works from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions. Coordinate with Purchasing for the achievement of cost objectives and delivery of materials.

Communicates directly with engineers to understand the purpose of a part assembly.

Checks and inspects machining operations against specific tolerances.

Identifies and repairs minor machine malfunctions.

What you will bring along:

Ability to operate manual machine tools. Ability to program CNC machine tools. Ability to work from detail engineering drawings and schematics. Knowledge of GD&T system. Knowledge of wire EDM. Knowledge of 2D CAD programs.

Two year Technical degree in Machine Tool Technology or related degree

3+ years related experience
