Job Title: Quality Receiving Inspector

Department: Quality Assurance

Reports To: Quality Control Manager

Job Summary:

The Quality Receiving Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all incoming materials, components, and products meet the stringent quality standards required for aerospace manufacturing. This role involves inspecting and verifying the quality of parts and materials received from suppliers, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with other departments to resolve any quality issues.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspection and Testing:

Perform visual and dimensional inspections on incoming materials, components, and assemblies.

Use precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure parts meet specifications.

Conduct functional and performance tests as required by engineering specifications and standards.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and discrepancies.

Prepare and submit quality reports, including non-conformance reports and corrective action requests.

Document and track supplier quality performance and communicate findings to the Quality Control Manager.

Compliance and Standards:

Ensure all inspections are conducted in accordance with industry standards, aerospace regulations, and company procedures.

Verify compliance with certifications and quality documentation provided by suppliers.

Collaboration:

Work closely with suppliers, procurement, and engineering teams to address and resolve quality issues.

Participate in supplier audits and assessments as needed.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify areas for process improvement and recommend changes to enhance quality control processes.

Contribute to the development and implementation of quality assurance procedures and policies.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in Quality Assurance or a related field is preferred.

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quality inspection or control within the aerospace industry.

Familiarity with aerospace standards such as AS9100, NADCAP, or other relevant certifications is highly desirable.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of quality inspection techniques and tools.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.

Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Other:

Ability to lift and move materials as required.

Familiarity with software for quality management and documentation (e.g., ERP systems, MS Office).
