Bagging Machine Operator

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced bagging machine operator operator for day shift.

Need to Know:

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 4 AM to 12:30 PM OR 8 AM to 4:30 PM, some Saturdays (NEVER a Sunday or major holiday)

Pay: $17-$18.50 depending on experience

Job Summary:

The Bagging Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining automated Vertical Form/Fill/Seal Machines to ensure efficient and sanitary packaging of food products. This role requires adherence to food safety regulations, quality control standards, and production goals while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate and monitor Vertical Form/Fill/Seal machines to package food products according to company standards.

Inspect packaged products for correct weight, sealing, labeling, and compliance with food safety regulations.

Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, and other food safety protocols.

Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs to prevent downtime.

Load and replenish packaging materials, such as food-grade bags, labels, and sealing components.

Maintain accurate production logs, machine performance records, and maintenance reports.

Identify and resolve issues like jams, incorrect sealing, or weight discrepancies to minimize waste.

Follow strict safety protocols and maintain a clean, hygienic work environment.

Set up machinery multiple times daily to accommodate different packaging sizes and product varieties.

Clean and sanitize equipment to ensure operational readiness and compliance with sanitation standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

Experience in food packaging or machine operation (preferred).

Knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, GMP, FDA regulations).

Basic mechanical skills for troubleshooting and maintenance.

Strong attention to detail to uphold quality control.

Ability to lift and move heavy materials as needed.

Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

Ability to train others on equipment operation and troubleshooting.
