Job Summary:
Our facility, located in Flint, MI, is seeking a dedicated and reliable Machine Shop Assistant for a direct hire position. As a Machine Shop Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the daily operations of our precision machining processes. Your responsibilities will include assisting machine operators, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, preparing raw materials, and ensuring that equipment and tools are properly stocked and maintained. You will also support quality control efforts by helping to inspect parts and ensuring they meet the highest standards of precision. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in a machine shop setting is preferred but not required
Job Description:
Assist in operating and maintaining CNC and manual machines.
Prepare and load raw materials into machines.
Clean and organize the machine shop, ensuring safety and efficiency.
Support machine operators in measuring and inspecting parts.
Maintain tools, equipment, and workstations.
Assist with inventory management of parts and supplies.
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.
Any and all other job duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
1+ year CNC, Machine Shop, Lathe, Mill Experience
Ability to measure parts using calipers, micrometers, tape measures
Basic computer and data entry skills
Punctuality, positivity, team player attitude
Ability to lift up to 30-40 lbs unassisted and stand for up to 10 hours per day
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Must be willing to submit to background check and drug screening
Must own a pair of steel toed boots or steel toed shoes
