Spartanburg Water, a water and waste water utility provider seeks a personable and highly motivated Inventory and Warehouse intern to support the Purchasing Specialist in day-to-day inventory management and warehouse organization. Job Skills / Requirements

Inventory & Warehouse Duties and Responsibilities

· Assist with requisitions to process into purchase orders. Ensuring proper quantity, amount, and account codes are accurate.

· Purchase order creation and receipt of items for inventory replenishment. Validate quantity, price, department and account codes. Reconcile purchase order to shipping documents for accuracy of quantity received and correct price. Resolve discrepancies with vendor through credits or returns.

· Issuance of inventory items. Issue inventory items to the correct department or project. Make adjustments for out of stock items discovered during issuing.

· Utilizing Munis data, determine volume requirements, stocking levels, lead time, and location.

· Implementation of barcoding technology to increase optimization of inventory at the transactional level.

· Make recommendations for increasing warehouse efficiency, to include layout, items locations, and item number/descriptions.

· Lift equipment weighing up to 40lbs.

Requirements

· Enrollment in an institution of higher learning with a major or concentration in Business Admin or related field

· Some experience in an office environment preferred

· Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

· Solid organizational skills and attention to detail
