Summary
The Sanitation CIP Technician is responsible for maintaining clean equipment and food processing environment for the facility.
Ensure correct CIP and cleaning processes used, and thorough inspection process completed for food safety all within standard times.
The CIP operator is responsible for ensuring optimum quality products through completing proper cleanup and sanitation tasks by following regulatory standards, ensuring the product and process are both clean and sterile.
The CIP Technician will follow all applicable GMP and Safety guidelines (including chemical handling) and will complete the needed tasks/duties as scheduled or when needed.Requirements:

Starting Pay Rate: $17 per hour
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assemble and disassemble equipment for proper cleaning/sanitizing per manufacturer instructions
Operate the CIP (clean-in-place) system to clean and sanitize equipment, tanks, and pipelines.
Complete basic preventive maintenance of gaskets, seals, O rings, plates, etc., on all product contact surfaces as needed by the Master Sanitation Schedule.
Complete record keeping items such as, but not limited to, identifying cleaning cycle times on charts, measuring cleaning concentration, examining flow rates, assessing heat up temperature and sanitizing by chemical strengths.
Perform the basic housekeeping to include clean floors, walls, ceiling, air vents, lights, etc., of the plant, equipment, and exterior of all equipment.
Accomplish pre-operations check on all product contact surfaces including pumps, valves, agitators, alcoves, and clamps before startup.
Collect required samples needed for Quality Assurance testing
Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible, and accurate format, and completed with required information.
Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP s.
Follow all plant and department safety procedures
Follow all plant and department general sanitation procedures
Safe use and handling of hazardous chemicals
Safe use of scissor lift equipment, use of fall protection equipment
Safe use of electric walk behind hand jack, forklift to complete sanitation tasks
Continuous work in wet environment
Interaction with other departments, maintenance, operations, and upper management
Participation in productivity and continuous improvement projects
Maintain clean and organized working environment
Perform area and 5S auditing
Accurate documentation of CIP records and filler equipment cleaning
Operation of chemical foaming equipment
Disassembly and reassembly of manufacturing equipment
The CIP Technician will follow all applicable GMP and Safety guidelines (including chemical handling) and will complete the needed tasks/duties as scheduled or when needed. Follow plant and department allergen sanitation and isolation protocol and procedures
Place work orders through the automated Maintenance Work Order System
Setting up and prepping manufacturing equipment for CIP
Manual cleaning and sanitation of filler equipment and support equipment and environment
Pre-CIP and Post-CIP inspection of filler equipment
Verification swabbing for clean equipment
Verification of the cleaning and inspection of filler equipment for release to production
Participate in Root Cause investigations related to sanitation
Follow chemical titration procedures
Advanced knowledge of valve, pump, and instrumentation functionality
Advanced knowledge of CIP and sanitation functionalities
Other duties as assigned
Other Skills / Work Experience:
Must be able to lift fifty pounds occasionally.
Must be able to work in a wet environment with exposure to dust, gas or fumes and cleaning chemicals.
Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to work in a demanding environment and effectively work in a team environment.
Must be able to pass all pre-employment screens (including drug, background, and criminal checks).
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures
Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and clients.
Familiarity with mechanical functions of all machines/equipment.
Ability to wear a company-provided uniform.
