Music Camp Coach - Contract Gig

Wanted - Music Coaches, Music Educators, Musical Rockstars

Heid Music’s Rock University is seeking coaches with experience in rock, folk, and/or pop music to work with music students on rehearsal techniques, song selection, final concert preparations, and additional aspects of forming a band. These are independent contractor positions where coaches work with young rockers between the ages of 11-18.

Coaches assist music students in preparing three cover songs and one original song. Coaches will also have the option to teach at least one class related to creating a band, ranging in topics from songwriting to marketing. Coaches can expect to spend approximately 30-40 hours working with bands during camp week, and an additional 3-7 hours on pre-camp planning (entrance exams, student placement, etc.)

Camp Dates: August 4–8, 2025

Location: Xavier Middle School, Appleton

Hours:

Pre-camp planning (mid-July): 4–8 hours To be scheduled based on coaches availability

Camp week: ~8:30 AM – 4:30 PM (Mon–Thurs); ~8:30 AM – 9:00 PM (Friday)

Preferred experience/requirement:

· 3 years of school or private lesson teaching experience

· High School Diploma

· Bachelor of Music in education/performance/composition (not required)

· Past or present experience rehearsing and performing with a band

· Background checks must be completed to coach (required)
