Finance Intern

RIVANNA is looking for a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Finance Intern to support our finance and accounting team. This role offers hands-on experience in a dynamic environment and provides exposure to financial controls, federal grant compliance, and day-to-day accounting operations within a high-growth manufacturing and technology business.

Responsibilities

Assist in daily accounting tasks, including invoice processing, data entry, and bank reconciliations

Support the monthly financial close process by helping organize and reconcile financial records

Help maintain documentation for federal grants and contract awards

Prepare reports and assist with financial analysis to support department managers

Work with the accounting team to track expenses, manage budgets, and identify cost-saving opportunities

Aid in the preparation of materials for auditors, tax authorities, and other external stakeholders

Perform research on accounting policies, industry standards, and financial regulations

Requirements

Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with QuickBooks or ERP systems is a plus

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to handle confidential information with integrity

Salary Description

$18 - $20/hour
