Abilities Network, a multiple year winner of the Baltimore Sun’s Top Workplace award, is looking for a Human Resources Specialist to support the HR Department. This position’s primary responsibilities are recruitment, onboarding and benefits administration as well as administrative support. This position is also expected to support the overall operation of Abilities Network when needed. Certain tasks maybe asked that do not fall into the essential functions of this job.

The starting salary for this position is $50,000 per year and is non-negotiable.

What will I do at Abilities Network?

Manage the full-cycle recruitment process to include sourcing and recruiting for all positions, coordinating and conducting phones screens and interviews, and managing the background check and drug screen process

Prepare reports related to recruitment, turnover, exit analysis, etc.

Coordinate and conduct onboarding and orientation for new hires and re-hires

Responsible for the administration and processing of employee benefits to include but not limited to 403(b) retirement plan, health and welfare benefits, paid leave, workers compensation, FMLA, and unemployment

Support the HR Department's administrative needs to include employee support, compliance, policy development, document preparation, HR projects, etc.

Support HRIS data entry and projects

Support bi-weekly payroll processing

Coordinate off boarding and conduct exit interviews

Perform other related duties as needed

Requirements

What does Abilities Network need from me?

The ideal candidate will have the following education and experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related field, preferred

HR professional certification, preferred

1-2 years of experience in recruitment, benefits and/or HR administration

Competencies & Qualifications:

Keeps current and maintains knowledge of HR best practices and applicable laws

Experience in and has the ability to maintain HR software including HRIS and applicant tracking

Uses independent judgement for recruitment sourcing and applicant selection

Strong decision making skills to guide employees and interpret policy and employment law

Ability to maintain a pleasant disposition when relating to employees, venders, and individuals

Comfortable with all types of technology i.e. proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Self-motivated and results driven

Maintains flexible and collaborative work ethic
