Completion of undergraduate core program in social or behavioral science or pre-medicine; 24 mos. exp. in delivery of human services or medical assistance in governmental, community or private human support services agency or medical provider; 6 mos. exp. in management; 12 mos. exp. in supervisory principles/techniques.

-Or completion of graduate core program in social or behavioral science or medicine-related field; 18 mos. exp. in delivery of human services or medical assistance in governmental, community or private human support services agency or medical provider; 6 mos. exp. in management; 12 mos. exp. in supervisory principles/techniques.

PRE-SERVICE TRAINING:

All new candidates hired to the Department of Youth Services are required to attend 3 weeks of mandatory, paid training at the Correctional Training Academy in Orient, Ohio. Training Academy hours are Monday through Thursday, 7\:00 am to 5\:00 pm.

DYS is a “qualifying employer” for purposes of the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness [PSLF] program.

DYS is seeking a Subsidies Manager [Human Services Program Administrator 3] in our Office of Community-Based Innovations and Solutions. This position will formulate and direct implementation of DYS' Subsidy Program.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Monitors, audits and evaluates process of programs funded within counties.

Oversight of Subsidy budgets.

Analyzes and directs implementation of program standards.

Analyzes and interprets federal & state regulations and laws to ensure Subsidy program compliance.

Acts for bureau chief by assisting in providing fiscal and program direction to staff & assisting with administering statewide DYS subsidy programs.

Acts on behalf of the bureau chief with local officials and community representatives on Subsidy related matters.

Supervises program staff.

Provides technical assistance regarding juvenile justice issues to bureau staff, juvenile court staff and others.

Prepares, directs, develops and maintains reports, documentation, correspondence and policies related to Subsidy programs.

Assists in preparing and monitoring budgets and contracts.

Prepares, directs and monitors court allocations and budgets.

Oversees audit appeals.

Develop requests for proposals and grants.
