Salary Range $22.54 - $28.03 per hour

Position Purpose: The RSI Data and Logistics will submit necessary data to Refugee Data Management System (RDMS) and facilitate school enrollment and school communication for RSI families. They may help organize Family Nights and support RSI families throughout the school year.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide registration and school enrollment support

Priority: Essential Percent of Time: 30%

Examples of this work include:

Along with school staff, help provide orientation to the school building including school expectations, tours, calendar, and attendance policies.

Assist families in completing online registration paperwork for the district including Free & Reduced Lunch application.

Refer families to resources for obtaining required immunizations, medical appointments, winter clothes, and other needs.

Assist families in finding transportation.

Assist learners and families with paperwork such as college applications, scholarships, FAFSA, childcare assistance, food assistance, temporary refugee cash and medical assistance.

2. Facilitate communication between RSI families and FPS schools

Priority: Essential Percent of Time: 35%

Examples of this work include:

Arranges and makes home visits to provide or collect information.

Participates in school meetings and/or conferences as needed.

Consults with ML teachers.

Schedules language interpretation as requested.

Facilitates translation of written materials as necessary.

Provides resources and cultural knowledge for teachers and acts as liaison between the school staff and families.

3. Manage data and referrals in RDMS

Priority: Essential Percent of Time: 35%

Examples of this work include:

Submit yearly data reports

Accept new referrals

Report progress towards RSI goals

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED

Bilingual in languages representative of a culture.

Willingness to learn FPS policies and procedures

Knowledge of cultural issues, concerns, and community resources within FPS and its community.

Oral and written communication skills.

Ability to work well with people including resolving interpersonal conflicts.

Ability to relate to a diverse population.

Translation skills for both oral and written language.

Knowledge of the application and use of computers with business productivity software such as Word, Excel, email programs and other office software.

Personal contact with students, staff, parents/guardians, faculty, and administrators is an essential part of the position and requires the ability to share information and must be sensitive to people and their needs. The position may handle confidential and private data.

Work involves differing situations and the ability to rapidly access and prioritize competing demands. It is important to identify the problem and resolve it promptly and tactfully.

The incumbent performs tasks under the direction of the Director of Standards-Based Instruction and responds to day-to-day needs, answer questions, and responds to emergent and non-emergent issues.

The incumbent takes the initiative to ensure completion of all tasks and will adjust priorities to accommodate competing workload demands.
