Test Technician

Job Title: Test Technician / Tester

Location: Foxboro, MA 02035

Duration: 12-month contract with potential for extension

Pay Rate: $27/hr on W2 (no benefits)

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 1st shift

Job Summary:

We're seeking a Test Technician/Tester with a strong electronics/electrical background and experience in procurement or purchasing. This role involves supporting the design, assembly, and documentation of test equipment, along with ensuring smooth operation and maintenance in a dynamic testing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Purchasing Support:

Request quotations for parts, equipment, and materials needed for test equipment fabrication

Purchase items for prototype builds and duplication

Coordinate shipping and ensure accurate cost allocation

Prototype/Test Equipment (Bed of Nails) Development:

Build test equipment from draft schematics and assembly drawings

Collaborate with documentation controllers for release of documents

Create Bills of Materials (BOMs)

Work alongside test engineers to enhance equipment design

Prepare tester documentation for manufacturing hand-off

Develop test, calibration, and preventative maintenance procedures

Lab Tester Support:

Perform preventative maintenance and calibration coordination

Build and maintain test station computers

Tester Logistics and Documentation:

Package testers for shipment, identify crating needs, and create packing lists

Deliver equipment to logistics teams

Implement and document ECO (Engineering Change Orders) as needed

Cable Management:

Build and maintain cable sets for new and legacy products

Qualifications:

Experience in assembly and fabrication of production equipment

Proficiency with power tools and mechanical assembly equipment

Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams

Strong math skills and attention to detail

Excellent written and verbal communication

Experience with spreadsheets and databases
