Senior Accountant – Construction Industry

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee daily, weekly, and monthly accounting functions within a dynamic construction environment. Reporting to the Controller, this hands-on role requires independence and strong communication skills to effectively manage financial operations across multiple entities.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform bank and cash reconciliations.

Prepare and post monthly, quarterly, and year-end journal entries.

Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.

Compile and file sales tax returns for various entities.

Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

Support budgeting and forecasting activities.

Conduct variance analyses and explain discrepancies.

Maintain schedules for prepaids, accruals, and fixed assets.

Ensure accurate cost allocations and intercompany billing.

Participate in financial audits and tax filings

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

Minimum of 4 years' experience in construction accounting.

Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage (Intacct, Timberline) and QuickBooks.

Experience with multi-entity or multi-state accounting.

Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
