Private household in Monroe, NY, is seeking a versatile and personable groundskeeper/server to maintain and improve our property facilities and grounds as well as support various daily tasks within our food and beverage service, as needed. The ideal candidate is hospitality minded, has broad maintenance/landscaping skills, and is able work both independently and as part of a team.
This is a live-out position in a dynamic, growing household where professionalism and discretion are key, but the environment is relaxed and not overly formal. This is a full-time, Year-round, role which consists of a 5-day flex workweek from 7:30am - 4pm, with flexibility to work longer hours and weekends when needed. Must be available for occasional emergency calls. Some weekend rotation required. The ideal candidate is extremely detail oriented, adaptable, and organized with a “no task too big or too small” attitude.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Perform general building maintenance and repairs (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting)
Maintain grounds, including lawn care, snow removal, and landscape upkeep
Conduct regular property inspections and preventive maintenance
Handle emergency maintenance situations as needed
Keep maintenance supplies organized and well-stocked
Maintain equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition
Document completed work and maintenance records
Assist with lunch/dinner parties/events and setup
Any additional Server roles and responsibilities as needed and requested by Principals
Requirements:
Strong command of the English language; superb communication skills, both written and verbal
Excellent references from current and/or previous employers
Minimum 2 years’ experience in building maintenance or facilities management
Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical)
Experience with grounds maintenance equipment and landscaping tools
Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking and communication
Strong problem-solving abilities
Must be flexible with schedule
Must have strong time management, punctuality, and multi-tasking skills
Professional in both mindset and manor; use of utmost discretion at all times
Reliable transportation
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Legally able to work in the United States
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and work outdoors in various weather conditions and incorporate extended hours
Capable of climbing ladders and working at heights
Must be able to bend, kneel, and lift heavy objects
Comfortable working in various weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications:
Technical certification in building maintenance or related field
Experience with power tools and heavy equipment operation
Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations
Swimming pool maintenance experience
HVAC certification
Knowledge and comfort with both casual and formal dining service
