Position Overview:

We are seeking a proactive, hands-on Dock Manager to lead operations at our St. Augustine location. This leadership role is responsible for managing all daily dock activities, maintaining the fleet, overseeing the member experience, and upholding the highest standards in safety and cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities:

Member Services & Retention

• Build strong relationships with members by providing exceptional customer service on the docks and during onboarding

• Handle member orientations and boat checkouts/check-ins with professionalism and courtesy

• Manage and resolve any member concerns or incidents promptly and tactfully

• Monitor membership satisfaction and partner with leadership to implement retention strategies

Fleet Oversight & Maintenance

• Conduct pre- and post-departure inspections on all vessels to ensure they are clean, safe, fueled, and ready for use

• Coordinate with the service department for repairs, maintenance scheduling, and vessel readiness

• Ensure all vessels meet appearance standards and are equipped with required safety and operational gear

• Perform basic troubleshooting and hands-on maintenance as needed

Team Leadership & Scheduling

• Oversee and train dockhands and part-time staff to deliver high-quality service

• Create staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage during operating hours

• Foster a positive and professional dockside culture that emphasizes safety, efficiency, and teamwork

Location Appearance & Safety

• Ensure the dock and vessels are organized, clean, and welcoming at all times

• Implement and enforce all safety procedures including proper use of life jackets, safe fueling, and emergency protocols

• Maintain and track inventory of safety and cleaning supplies, boat keys, and other dock equipment

Operational Duties

• Communicate regularly with District Managers and support teams to align on operations, performance, and feedback

• Report usage metrics, member issues, OOS (out-of-service) boats, and safety concerns

• Follow company SOPs for boat handling, vessel checklists, dock opening/closing, and emergency response

Qualifications:

• Prior marina, boat club, or hospitality experience preferred

• Proven leadership or supervisory experience

• Strong boating knowledge and hands-on comfort operating vessels

• Excellent customer service and communication skills

• Detail-oriented and organized with strong follow-through

• Comfortable using apps and mobile tools for check-ins, scheduling, and work order tracking

• Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50 lbs., bend, kneel, and move around boats and docks safely

• Work in outdoor, marine environments in varying weather conditions
