Note: this position is required to be onsite at our manufacturing locations in Fresno and Dinuba CA.

The Role

The Quality Assurance and Sanitation Manager is responsible for the documentation of the entire production facility and must ensure that all HACCP standards and guidelines are being met. The QA and Sanitation Manager must ensure that all company standards are met and that the entire production staff stays in compliance with these policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and oversee the administration of all quality and food safety programs, ensuring compliance with FDA, HACCP, BRCGS, and sanitation standards.

Direct, develop, manage and update all quality programs as necessary to comply with customer, regulatory, and company standards (Quality Programs include Vendor Certification, Incoming Good Inspection, Sanitation, HACCP, Pest control, GMPs, Noncompliance/Hold, etc).

Develop, implement, monitor and update all Quality, Process, and Sanitation SOPs.

Train and develop all QA Supervisors & Technicians.

Organize training lessons for new company procedures and reinforce the existing procedures.

Issue, review and maintain product specifications, certificates of analysis, and all other QA documents.

Verify, file, organize, and review all documents pertinent to sanitation, HACCP, product recall, and quality control and quality assurance.

Inspect the production facility daily to ensure the facility is always inspection-ready.

Conduct relevant physical, chemical, and microbiological tests on raw material as per specifications.

Observe employees during production to ensure that all FDA regulations are met and the HACCP plan is being followed.

Ensure all sanitation and safety guidelines are being met.

Coordinate lab testing on the product and testing of the facility, ensuring adherence to quality standards.

Support launch of new products by reviewing R&D recipes, using ESHA database to create Nutrition Fact Panels, review of labels before going to print, and updating plant documentation as needed for new labels, recipes, ingredients, etc.

Report any areas of the production facility or any systems that are in need of improvement or repair.

Report all non-conformances to the Sr Director of Quality Assurance.

Help with the tasting process, (before, during, and after) to approve that all products are meeting company criterion.

Review all customer complaints and document any corrections taken.

Other job-related duties as requested.

Attend all mandatory meetings.

Qualifications

3+ years of work experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control in the Food Industry.

In-depth knowledge of HACCP and other food safety requirements (BRCGS, SQF, etc.).

Bachelor's degree in food science.

Exceptional organization and planning skills.

Ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects in a timely manner.

Ability to work independently and effectively.

Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to train and develop team members.

Proficient in English (written and verbal communication)

Conversational in Spanish is a big plus!

Ability to communicate well with staff.

Ability to maintain confidential company information.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
