Position: Data Modeling Analyst III

Work Location: Reston, VA

Duration: 12+ Months (Potential to Extend)

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Data Modeler to join our team onsite in Reston. This role is ideal for professionals with a solid foundation in data modeling and warehousing concepts who are looking to contribute to critical enterprise-level data initiatives. The ideal candidate will serve as a key liaison between development and testing teams, participate in Agile ceremonies, and help ensure high-quality data structures through collaboration and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

Capture and document data modeling requirements based on business needs

Design and implement relational and dimensional data models for enterprise databases

Use data modeling tools such as ER/Studio to build and maintain models

Support Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, etc.)

Act as the point of contact for development and QA/testing teams

Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure data models align with business and technical goals

Utilize Microsoft Excel and Word extensively for documentation and project tracking

Contribute to data governance practices, including metadata management and data quality initiatives

Required Skills and Qualifications:

6–8 years of experience in data modeling and database design

Strong understanding of data and data warehousing principles

Hands-on experience with ER/Studio or similar data modeling tools

Proficiency in relational and dimensional modeling

Experience working in Agile environments

Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Data governance experience is highly preferred
