Overview:
Insight Global Evergreen is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled OSP Fiber Design Technician to join our telecom team. The ideal candidate will have experience using 3GIS and ArcGIS Pro software to design and maintain fiber optic networks. This role requires a strong understanding of GIS principles, fiber optic technology, and telecommunication infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Design and document fiber optic networks using 3GIS and ArcGIS Pro software.
Create, update, and maintain GIS data layers related to fiber optic infrastructure.
Perform spatial analysis and generate maps and reports to support network planning and development.
Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to ensure accurate and efficient fiber network designs.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements in all design work.
Assist in the preparation of permits and related materials.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to GIS data and software.
Provide training and support to team members on GIS and fiber design tools and methodologies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Proven experience using 3GIS and ArcGIS Pro software for fiber network design.
Strong understanding of GIS principles and spatial data management.
Knowledge of fiber optic technology and telecommunication infrastructure.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with other GIS software and tools.
Experience with telecommunications industry.
Familiarity with AutoCAD or other CAD software.
Knowledge of database management and SQL.
Compensation:
$17.50/hr to $20.50/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
