Our client, a growing <$25 Million Social Services organization located in Manhattan, is seeking a Controller to lead the entirety of Accounting and Finance. This position will report into the Executive Director and lead a small team. This is a unique opportunity to help scale new revenue streams, enhance organization-wide processes and systems, and serve as a strategic thought partner to both leadership and the board.
Responsibilities
Lead the organization’s financial strategy, planning, and forecasting
Develop and manage the annual budget in collaboration with the Executive Director and Development heads
Manage the General Ledger across the entirety of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and grants
Lead all audits and month end, quarterly, and annual closes
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with GAAP and all applicable regulations
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and present findings to leadership and the Board of Directors
Manage cash flow sand banking relationships
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements
Prepare for and lead the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors
Oversee the financial aspects of grant applications, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance
Supervise and mentor your team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environmen
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related; MBA, CNAP, or CPA preferred
8+ years of progressive, non-profit accounting experience
Proven leadership experience
In-depth knowledge of GAAP and city, state, federal, and non-profit tax regulations
Strong FP&A and GL Accounting experience
Excellent communication Skills
