Role: Data Engineer - Microsoft Fabric

Position Type: 12-Month Contract

Location: Vancouver, WA - 100% Onsite

Compensation: $60-$70 per hour

Job Description

This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining data solutions within the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem. The ideal candidate will support cross-functional teams by ensuring the availability, performance, and reliability of key data systems.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and document end-to-end data solutions using Microsoft Fabric.

Develop ETL processes to integrate data from multiple sources.

Optimize data models and databases for efficiency and scalability.

Collaborate with stakeholders to meet evolving data needs.

Maintain high standards of data quality through testing and validation.

Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and system performance.

Stay up to date with emerging trends and tools within the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem.

Support knowledge transfer by training existing data teams on implemented solutions.

Tools and Technologies

Candidates should be comfortable with the following tools and concepts:

Microsoft Azure: Data Factory, Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL Database

ETL Tools: Azure Data Factory, SSIS, or Fabric-native Notebooks

Programming Languages: SQL, Python, PySpark

Data Governance: Understanding of best practices for compliance and quality

Technical Documentation: Ability to clearly document processes and workflows

Soft Skills and Attributes

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy

Effective collaborator with cross-functional teams

Adaptable and eager to learn new technologies

Clear and concise communication skills

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field

At least 3-5 years of experience in data engineering

Experience with Microsoft Fabric and medallion architecture

Solid understanding of data architecture and database design

Proven ability to manage complex data solutions in fast-paced environments

Preferred Skills

Relevant Microsoft certifications

Familiarity with Microsoft Business Central
