GIS IT Analyst

We are hiring a GIS IT Analyst for an onsite contract position (40 hours per week) with a well-established organization in Newport Beach, CA. Please apply directly if interested!

Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and support GIS applications to enhance municipal operations, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.

Develop and maintain GIS databases, interactive maps, forms, and web-based applications to support citywide initiatives.

Perform geospatial analysis, geoprocessing, and create cartographic products for reports and presentations.

Provide system support for field data collection processes, ensuring data accuracy and seamless integration with other enterprise systems.

Facilitate GIS integration with other municipal systems to improve workflows and interdepartmental data sharing.

Offer technical support for GIS software and hardware, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.

Collaborate with various departments to understand GIS needs, provide training, and maximize the utility of GIS tools.

Regularly and predictably attend work and perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is highly preferred.

Proven experience in developing and managing GIS applications within a governmental or municipal setting.

Strong proficiency in GIS software platforms (e.g., ArcGIS), spatial databases, and programming languages such as Python or SQL.

Familiarity with municipal workflows and GIS applications in public services and infrastructure projects.

Excellent ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and document processes effectively.
