JOB SUMMARY
Excellent opportunity for an Engineering Intern, who will be a key contributor with the primarily responsibility of supporting the product engineering team with design research, Engineering testing and validation as well as continuous improvement initiatives. This intern will have the opportunity to learn Barksdale’s control product lines, engineering tools, and assist with engineering actions on multiple projects. This intern will work closely with our Engineers and other cross-functional teams in the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Development: Perform design research for on-going projects and assist Engineers on finding multiple technical solutions
Testing and Validation: Learn test protocols and execute tasks related to testing in engineering lab and generate test reports per Engineering SOP.
Project Execution: Participate in project team meetings and gain insight on how workflows are established to execute a project
Improvement Initiatives: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on streamlining Engineering products or processes
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, preferably in Engineering, or related technical degree
Must possess a GPA of 3.5 or higher
Electrical/Computer/Mechanical Engineering background
Electrical Engineering with embedded system is highly desirable
Be able to conduct research and translate data
Must have strong interpersonal, listening, verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to work independently and think creatively
Salary range: $23 to $27 hourly. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications.
