Description:

Position: COBOL Developer – Level III

Location: Remote

Clearance Requirement: Must pass client-mandated screening and be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder with 5+ years U.S. residency

Top Required Skills & Experience

Mainframe Payroll Experience: Demonstrated history working on payroll processing within mainframe environments.

COBOL Expertise: 8+ years developing on IBM z/OS using COBOL.

Mainframe Technologies: Proficient with JCL, VSAM, DB2, IMS, CICS, IBM utilities, TSO/ISPF, Abend-AID.

Tools & Utilities: Experience with Control-D, Control-M, File-AID.

Security: Familiarity with RACF and other mainframe security protocols.

Migration/Modernization: Background in mainframe migration projects or system modernization.

Preferred Qualifications

DevOps for Mainframe: Experience with Jenkins, Git, or similar CI/CD tools.

Performance Tuning: Proven ability in optimizing mainframe system performance.

ServiceNow: Exposure to ITSM tools, particularly ServiceNow.

Soft Skills

Analytical and troubleshooting skills in complex mainframe environments.

Strong written and verbal communication—especially with cross-functional teams (e.g., Java developers for system integration).

Ability to independently manage development tasks and provide oversight to junior team members when needed.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical field preferred.

If not in an applicable field, must have 4 additional years of experience (totaling 12 years).
