Language Data Scientist

About Join Ascendion’s Q for Business initiative—a forward-looking AI/ML team focused on generative AI experiences and transforming how professionals interact with business data. We're seeking a Language Data Scientist II to help drive innovation in language modeling, data analysis, and AI system design.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct research and data curation to support model training and evaluation.

Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product teams to improve LLM performance.

Annotate and analyze language data to guide model improvements.

Perform error analysis and evaluation of NLP models and datasets.

Qualifications

3–5 years of industry experience in data science and/or research roles.

2+ years of hands-on experience in data science projects.

Exposure to large language models (LLMs).

Strong scripting experience (Python preferred).

Minimum Master’s degree in Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, Data Science, or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree may be considered with significant industry experience.

Preference for candidates with an industry-focused background.

Location: Santa Clara, California

Salary Range: The salary for this position is between

$125000- $140000 Annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
