Long term contract with a major financial firm. Newark, NJ or Chicago preferred. Remote is a possibility.
Payrate : 50 - 80 per hour
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with business, operational and technology teams to Client existing data assets and processes and document findings in appropriate forms, including but not limited to process diagrams, mapping files and data dictionaries.
• Analyze data to identify quality issues, gaps and pain points, and present analysis and assessment to stakeholders.
• Engage with business and operational teams to gather requirements for data and process improvement and convert such requirements into Business Requirement Documents (BRD).
• Work with technology teams to implement BRDs and participate in tasks such as coordinating BRD update and sign-off, gathering test cases and conducting UAT.
• Participate in the design and implementation of data quality control measures; perform regular and ad-hoc data quality screenings.
• Analyze, summarize and communicate data quality screening results to relevant teams; assist and coordinate remediation efforts.
• Assist in data governance activities by gathering or validating business metadata to ensure consistent definitions and naming conventions are applied.
Qualifications
• Strong hands-on experience as a data analyst or business analyst
• Effective communicator, both verbally and in writing; Detail oriented and able to document complex processes and large volume of metadata.
• Good interpersonal skills, diplomatic yet persistent; be able to get things out of people's head and into writing.
• Experience in financial service industry required, experience in private credit or asset management sector preferred.
• Hands-on experience with SQL required; hands-on experience with Python strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and relevant methodologies and tools such as Agile and JIRA.
• Past experience with Microsoft cloud solutions such as Azure, Fabric, Power BI and Purview a distinct advantage.
• Located around greater New York or greater Chicago areas preferred but not required.
