Peerbound uses unstructured data from call recordings, customer reviews, marketing materials, CRM systems, and more to help marketing and sales teams find their biggest fans and use their praise to win new deals. We use AI to re-imagine the workflows marketers use to engage with customers, create content, and deliver relevant content to their sales teams.

Based out of our New York City office, where we work in-person together 4 days a week, our team is a tight-knit group. Our co-founders are alumni of successful NYC tech start-ups, Datadog (IPO in 2019) and Braze (IPO in 2021). We are backed by top-tier venture funds whose other investments include Square, Palantir, Instacart, Airtable, and Webflow.

Our customers include the best B2B technology companies like Gong, Motive, Contentful, and more. Our product is used every day by marketers and sellers at these companies, and we have a never-ending stream of customer love (which our product identifies for us). We have access to more funding if we need it, and we are also on a clear path to profitability.

About the Role

To help our product and team scale to the next level, we are searching for an experienced founding engineer who has worked on a world-class engineering team and loves the quick-moving, brutally pragmatic culture of start-ups.

If you join our team, you will work closely with our Head of Engineering and our CEO to define priorities and requirements, but you will fully own the execution of all your own projects. You will generally write RFCs to propose solutions and then pair with another engineer to implement those solutions, likely spanning all layers of the tech stack.

You will be constantly working on the most strategically important engineering challenges we face. In the short-to-medium term, these include:

Collaborating with data scientists on the architecture of a RAG-like system that powers our chatbot.

Building a data platform that enables the onboarding of larger and larger customers, while preserving low-latency in user-facing APIs.

Designing a framework for mapping together customer data from a growing number of 3rd party systems into a common customer data model.

Creating a sandbox environment, shadow pipelines, and other tooling that enable experimentation and validation of new AI models.

You will help strengthen an engineering culture that values well-written code, thoughtful post mortems, and well-reasoned design. You must sweat the details but also know when to accept tech debt to move faster toward company goals.

Job Requirements

You have 7+ years of experience building enterprise-grade SaaS applications

You have built successful customer-facing products (or significant feature sets) from scratch.

You are fluent in Python and Typescript. React experience is a plus.

You are based in NYC and are eager to work in-person at our beautiful office on 38th and 6th (with a gorgeous rooftop) 4 days a week.

You are an expert in distributed system design, understand the tradeoffs between different data stores, and have experience scaling these systems.

Compensation and Benefits

Annual salary range of $210,000 to $240,000

0.5% - 1.0% equity in the company
