Job Title: Server Engineer – Operational Technology (OT) & Infrastructure

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Server Engineer to support our clients hybrid IT and Operational Technology (OT) environments, focusing on virtualization, hardware infrastructure, and domain services that support mission-critical process control systems. This role is vital to maintaining secure, reliable, and high-performing server infrastructure across both enterprise and industrial networks.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and manage server infrastructure in support of Operational Technology (OT) systems and Process Control Networks.

Deploy and maintain virtualization environments using VMware vSphere and Dell VxRail hyper-converged infrastructure.

Administer and maintain Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy for both enterprise and OT networks.

Support the configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of Dell server hardware, ensuring high availability and performance.

Collaborate with OT engineers and control systems teams to ensure server infrastructure is aligned with the needs of process automation systems.

Implement and support backup, disaster recovery, and redundancy strategies within regulated industrial environments.

Ensure secure operations of OT and IT systems by adhering to cybersecurity policies and best practices (e.g., ISA/IEC 62443).

Troubleshoot and resolve issues across virtualized and physical infrastructure layers in a timely manner.

Maintain detailed and up-to-date documentation of systems, configurations, and operational procedures.

Participate in infrastructure projects, system upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and process sites.

Qualifications & Experience:

5–10 years of experience in server engineering, virtualization, or systems administration.

Strong experience with VMware vSphere, vCenter, and Dell VxRail platforms.

Hands-on experience managing Active Directory and other domain services in a secure, multi-domain architecture.

Solid background working with Dell server hardware including firmware updates and diagnostics.

Direct experience supporting infrastructure in Operational Technology environments, including industrial control systems and process automation platforms.

Understanding of network segmentation, OT/IT integration, and security best practices in industrial settings.

Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills.

Ability to work in 24/7 operational environments with strong uptime and reliability expectations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Industry certifications such as:

VMware Certified Professional (VCP)

Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate

Dell EMC Proven Professional

Familiarity with ISA/IEC 62443 and cybersecurity frameworks for industrial systems.

Experience working in petrochemical, oil & gas, or refining environments is highly preferred.

Exposure to monitoring, automation, and infrastructure-as-code tools is a plus
