The US West Mining Market is a critical component of GHD’s overall growth strategy in Americas. The US West Region is looking to bring onboard highly motivated Senior Engineer/Scientist to strengthen and grow our mining business. This position will be based in any of our West Region locations ( Ca, AZ, NV, ID, WA, UT) Candidates located in other US West locations will be considered.

Working with a passionate and engaged leader, this position offers responsibilities including:
Compile, interpret, and evaluate engineering, geological, geotechnical, geochemical and/or hydrogeologic field and analytical data for technical reports.
Lead the preparation of data tables and figures, as required
Prepare technical memos, reports, letters, and other deliverables including but not limited to investigation reports, conceptual site model reports, and scientific/engineering evaluations.
Interpret engineering or scientific figures/drawings/plans
Work collaboratively with the team to share knowledge and best practices, in delivering technical solutions to our clients’ diverse set of challenges on mining projects.
Prepare and deliver Powerpoint presentations to clients and/or regulators to convey technical findings.
Formulate and present scopes of work that include proactive, strategic approaches to projects, leveraging GHD’s capabilities.
Prepare scopes of work and fee estimates for services within your field of expertise.
Manage technical tasks: maintaining client satisfaction while ensuring projects are delivered safely and within scope, schedule, and budget
Leading best practice project delivery, making key technical contributions to projects and coordinating the work of team members to deliver creative solutions
Working with project managers and project teams to improve job delivery skills within the Mining Business Group
Ensure adherence to GHD’s QA/QC plans including meeting established Quality KPIs
What you will bring to the team:
Bachelor's degree in engineering (e.g., civil, environmental, geological, mining, etc.) or science (e.g., geology, hydrogeology, geochemistry, environmental science, etc.) required
Minimum 15 years experience including 5+ years of experience working for (or with) mining clients, 5+ years of consulting experience preferred
Mining experience related to one or more of the following:
Environmental or geotechnical site investigations
Mining-Influenced Water
Mine site hydrology, hydrogeology, and/or geochemistry
Mine Planning and Closure
Tailings Management/Design
Mining Engineering
Mining Exploration
Permitting and regulatory compliance experience for the mining industry (air, NEPA, NPDES, stormwater, etc.)
Water quality permitting (aquifer protection, direct discharge, stormwater)
Strong relationship leadership skills and a real passion for developing people within GHD
Flexible and able to meet challenging deadlines
A self-starter with sound judgment and decisiveness
Experience and/or formal training with project management best practices a plus, but not required
Professional registration (PE, PG) a plus, but not required

Salary Range: $138,000-$207,000 based on location and experience
