Wellabe is seeking a hybrid Data Architect to be responsible for designing and implementing company wide data architecture, data pipelines, and data optimization practices to provide a reliable and maintainable data source for stakeholders across the organization.

Data Architecture: Develop and implement scalable data models and pipelines tailored for insurance data, leveraging Databricks Lakehouse architecture to enable real-time processing, advanced analytics, and seamless integration of diverse data sources.
Optimizing System Performance: Continuously identify and resolve bottlenecks in data processing systems to maintain optimal performance and reliability. Employ advanced optimization techniques to enhance speed, scalability, and efficiency while reducing resource usage.
Collaborating with Stakeholders: Partner with other leaders to align data architecture with organizational strategies, facilitating data-driven decision-making and deliver valuable insights.
Mentoring: Provide guidance and mentorship to the data engineering team, fostering best practices in data modeling, pipeline development, and system optimization to ensure robust and efficient data processes across the organization.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Data Engineering or related field.
5+ years of experience in Data Architecture and design, preferably in the Insurance industry.
Strong expertise in designing and implementing comprehensive data architecture strategies that encompass data modeling, integration pipelines, governance frameworks, and scalable infrastructure to support business objectives.
Skilled in developing Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) pipelines for seamless data integration.
Experience with Databricks, including designing and optimizing data workflows, managing Lakehouse architectures, and leveraging its platform for advanced analytics and machine learning solutions.
Strong command of SQL and Python for data manipulation and system development.
Comprehensive knowledge of data security, quality, and compliance standards
Hands-on experience with cloud technologies, a Git provider and CI/CD details.
