Delaware company in need of Full-time Yard/Warehouse Manager
The Yard Manager oversees the yard s daily business activity regarding scrap collection, purchasing, processing, and shipping. Oversees customer access and activities in the yard. Manages yard s inventory on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis. Manages all employee activities, sometimes over multiple shifts while adhering-to and promoting all safety standards. Incumbent is also responsible for effectively meeting required productivity and profitability levels utilizing their knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, the classification and sorting of metals, inventory management as well as customer relations.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for internal and external customer service relating to non-ferrous and ferrous business activities.
Monitor floor operations and develop best, effective work process, identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Communicates information and interactions with the CEO, COO, and other management team
Oversee yard layout and equipment line up.
Trains, monitors, motivate and develop the performance of department associates.
Supervise and develop regular and full-time and part-time yard staff to their full potential with respect to job performance and the delivery of exceptional customer service.
Monitor yard operations and develop best, effective work process, identify opportunities for continuous improvement
Travels to Main office (Marion) for weekly Manager and Transportation meetings.
Comply with and enforce company policies and procedures.
Purchase order generation, processing, invoice review and approval.
Coordinate with Maintenance Department to ensure all equipment remains in working order and in compliance with the Recycling Industry Operating Standard (RIOS) and safety standards.
Travels to current and potential new clients to maintain customer service.
Requirements:
Must have a High School Diploma or GED
Bachelor s Degree preferred
Must have a demonstrated history of successfully leading and facilitating changes that involve all levels of employees with measurable results
3-5 years prior experience desired in industry and as a supervisor/manager.
Knowledge with ferrous, non-ferrous, trader and transportation desired.
Familiarity with OSHA requirements and industry specific safety protocols
Ideally, candidate will spend 60% of time at the yard and 40% on the road within 20 miles of Delaware, OH.
