Touch Up Solder Technician 2

Mon-Fri, 7 AM - 3: 30 PM
Overall position description:
Solder electronic components and wire to PCB’s following documented work instructions, travelers and drawings
Essential functions of the job:
Read, interpret, and understand BOM’s, drawings, work instructions, travelers, and trouble sheets
Identify proper components / wired to be installed
Solder components / wires per documentation
Complete appropriate documentation
Return spare parts to Stockroom upon completion of job
Assist in the training of Level 1 employees
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Ability to communicate with Management Employees
Working knowledge of accepted electronic assembly methods
Working knowledge of standard soldering equipment and associated tools
Identify electronic / wire components and values
Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
Required education and experience:
Prefer a high school diploma or 2 years job related experience
IPC 610 Certification within 6 months
IPC J-STD-001 preferred
Other certifications as required
Description of the physical demands:
Sufficient strength in hands to use soldering tools
Able to use microscope and light ring for extended periods up to an 8-hour shift
Ability to sit at workstation for up to 2 hours without break

Description of Safety Requirements:
Safety Glasses required when clipping leads, cleaning with alcohol or flux, soldering without microscope, using hot air, and blowing air to clean or dry boards
