We’re searching for an enthusiastic and experienced Director to take the lead at our Before and After School Program at Montague Elementary School in Montague, NJ. In this role, you’ll be the key driver of daily operations at the Healthy Kids Program Site.

SCHEDULE: Monday–Friday

JOB STATUS: Part-Time, Non-Exempt

PAY RATE: $18.00–$21.00 per hour

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensuring Compliance: Oversee that the team and program meet OCFS regulations, Healthy Kids protocols, and the expectations set by our host school.

Making It Fun: Lead exciting, hands-on activities inspired by the Healthy Kids Curriculum—ranging from fitness and STEAM to academics and creative arts. Homework time is also your domain—you’ll be the go-to homework helper!

Smooth Operations: Handle key management duties, such as tracking attendance and enrollment, and maintaining proper staffing levels to keep everything running like clockwork.

Clear Communication: Use the Playground App to stay in regular touch with families and share important updates.

Team Coordination: Keep your supervisor in the loop with consistent communication about daily happenings and any issues. Working together as one united team helps us deliver the best care possible, keep morale high, and respond to challenges efficiently.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

One of the following qualifications is required:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Psychology, Nursing, Health Care, or another child development–related field; or a valid NJ Teaching Certification (Elementary Education, P-3, or Teacher of the Handicapped), plus six Early Childhood credits and two years of experience with children.

A Bachelor’s Degree in any other field, with six Early Childhood credits and four years of relevant experience.

OR a Head Teacher Endorsement from the NJ Registry for Childhood Professionals (Professional Impact New Jersey).

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must pass a background check including fingerprinting, references, and clearance through NYS OCFS SEL & SCR.

Must be medically cleared to perform job duties and be free of communicable illnesses, including TB.

Friendly, outgoing, and professional demeanor—great with children, families, and coworkers. Dependable and punctual.

Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. and stay active to keep up with busy kids!
