Job Title – Sterile Processing Technician

Location – Urbana, IL

Contract - 13 weeks with the possibility of extension

Shift - 5x8hrs (Day, Eve and Night)

Pay Breakdown - $16/hr on w2 + $1,000 on weekly per diem Total Weekly gross - $1,640

Job Summary:

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the accurate and efficient reassembly, packaging, and sterilization of surgical instrument sets in accordance with departmental procedures and manufacturers' instructions for use (IFU). This role includes the manual and mechanical cleaning, inspection, and functional testing of reusable medical equipment. The technician also supports inventory management by restocking supplies and picking surgical case supplies as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean, inspect, assemble, and package surgical instruments and equipment.

• Operate electronic testing equipment for electrosurgical instruments and cables.

• Sterilize instruments per IFU and departmental guidelines.

• Restock supply carts and manage inventory using the SPD Information System.

• Accurately document sterilization processes and completed tasks.

• Respond to STAT and ASAP requests in a timely and professional manner.

• Provide excellent internal and external customer service.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.

• CRCST or CSPDT certification required.

• Basic computer and medical terminology knowledge.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
