PROCUREMENT CLERK / METER INSTALLER CLASS 2 Summary of Duties: The Procurement Clerk / Meter Installer Class 2 is responsible for the ordering and receipt of materials from vendors and issuance of stock to MMED workers.
This position is responsible for inventory control and reconciliation, generates purchase orders; and coordinates with MMED office staff to ensure a smooth flow of information for inventory and billing purposes.
Serves as Meter Installer Class 2 on a needed basis during business operations.
Frequent contact with the internal staff, contractors and electricians is required.
Supervision Received: Works under the direct supervision of the General Manager / Director.
Supervision Exercised: None Minimum Qualifications: Education: High School diploma or equivalent Experience: Prior experience with materials commonly used in the electric utility industry.
Understanding of procurement rules and regulations.
Licenses/Certificates: Massachusetts Hoisting Engineer License with minimum 1C and 2B certifications, Massachusetts Class B CDL license.
Knowledge/Abilities/Skills: Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with both internal staff and external vendors.
Computer skills are needed for interfacing with stock inventory software, word processing, and spreadsheet applications.
Ability to lift equipment of various sizes up to a limit of 50 lbs.
Expected to work in inclement weather to perform work as necessary.
Have a fundamental knowledge of electricity and safety practices and procedures for installing and removing meters.
Starting Salary: This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
The starting salary range is currently $41.10 - $43.68 per hour.
The salary range beginning July 1, 2025, will be $43.16 - $45.86 per hour.
